Myla first started hip hop in 2012, but has always loved dancing and moving. She started out at Pulse in 2013 taking youth classes, and in 2015 she joined Beast Machine. Through Pulse, Myla has had the opportunity to travel all over North America to train and take classes from pioneers in hip hop. After 5 years of Beast Machine training and performing at events like Lilac Festival, Vancouver Street Dance Festival, SAIT basketball halftime shows and Harlem Globetrotters halftime shows, Myla joined the second generation of the Gateway Project, which she completed in 2022. Myla continues to train and grow as a dancer and has had training in many different styles, but her favourite styles are hip hop and house.

Strictly Steps Beginner

"Strictly Steps" is a dance class created at PULSE, focused on learning a routine throughout the session. Instructors are encouraged to create dynamic choreographies that blend various styles, drawing inspiration from their creative vision. Previous knowledge of hip hop basics is recommended.

This class is for beginners who are being introduced to House for the first time or who are in the process of learning the basic foundations of this style.
House dance, rooted in Chicago’s house music from the early '80s, blends fast footwork and fluid torso movements. It draws from a mix of Tap, Latin, African, Lindy Hop, Ballet, and popular party dances, evolving alongside the rhythms of house music.
