The city’s most anticipated weekend of street dance is back. This summer, the Streetdance Intensive returns to PULSE — and it's bringing serious heat.
From July 11 to 13, dancers across Calgary and beyond are locking in for a rare chance to train with Street-Style legends who’ve shaped the culture from New York to Vancouver. Get ready to push your freestyle, refine your technique, and reignite the passion that brought you to the floor in the first place.
Each class focuses on foundational skills, musicality, battle-tested creativity, and above all — authenticity. It’s not just about learning steps. It’s about understanding the spirit behind them, the voices they came from, and the personal flavour you bring into the room.
This isn’t a showcase or a choreography camp. It’s about Streetdance at its rawest — guided by artists who’ve lived it, taught it, and continue to evolve it. You’ll walk away with stronger tools, a wider lens, and inspiration that moves deeper than your body.
Here’s a closer look at who’s leading the charge this July.
Chrybaby Cozie – New York
Chrybaby Cozie is a living legend and one of the founding architects of Lite Feet culture. Emerging from Harlem’s vibrant Streetdance scene in the late ‘80s, Chrybaby co-created Lite Feet alongside Mr YouTube, channelling the electric energy of party freestyle into a distinct, syncopated movement language.
His dedication to youth community-building led him to establish The Breakfast Club E.A.T. in 2005, followed by the globally connected Lite Feet Nation — two platforms focused on uplifting emerging talent. As a mentor and innovator, Chrybaby has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio, and Exile Dance Studio while leading workshops in Taiwan, Switzerland, and right here at PULSE.
You’ve seen his signature Lite Feet grooves lighting up stages alongside artists like Chris Brown, A$AP Ferg, and Kiesza, and on big platforms like Hot 97’s Summer Jam, the Bad Boy Reunion Tour, and the Apollo Theatre. Equally at home in battles and broadcast television, Chrybaby has judged Street Style Lab, Rep Your Style, and 5 Pointz events, and appeared in coverage by The New Yorker, Complex, and New York magazine.
With him, you don’t just learn moves — you connect with culture, history, and the unapologetic bravado of Harlem Street performance. At this July’s Streetdance Intensive, Chrybaby will lead you into the heartbeat of Lite Feet, teaching not only technique but creative etiquette, freestyle identity, and how to “level up” with purpose.

Waldo – Montreal
Coming to Calgary from Canada’s East Coast, Waldo is a quiet force with a powerful vocabulary in Popping, Waving, and Boogaloo. A Popper at heart, he blends sharp muscle control with fluid transitions, giving every move bounce, flavour, and story.
Waldo’s name carries weight on battle stages across Canada and beyond. You’ll find clips of him shining in competitions like Juste Debout Canada and Vertifight in France, while repping his crew, Funky By Nature. His freestyle mixes unpredictable creativity with precise, classic technique — never locked into patterns. He knows both the mechanics and the soul of Street Styles — and teaches in a way that brings both to life.
As a mentor, Waldo is calm, observant, and highly intentional. His sessions focus on groove, control, and personal rhythm — pushing dancers to explore beyond choreography and into their own creative instincts. Expect a deep dive into textures, timing, and body awareness, with plenty of freestyle drills and constructive feedback.
Waldo doesn’t just teach you how to hit. He teaches you how to feel what you're hitting — and why.
This July, he brings his decades of experience to PULSE, ready to challenge and elevate anyone ready to listen, watch, and move with intent.

Travis Lim – Vancouver
Travis Lim is one of Canada’s most recognizable dance talents — a national champion, world finalist, and proud product of Vancouver’s Fresh Groove Productions. He brings with him not only battle credentials but stage experience, international training, and a deep love for freestyle expression.
Travis made waves winning the World Hip Hop Dance Championship with Fresh Groove, performing at World of Dance Season 2 along with his crew Freshh, and hosting his own television show HipHop with Travis Lim on the Shaw network. Over the years, he’s grown into a dynamic, multi-dimensional artist — fusing Hip Hop, Locking, Breaking, and Street Choreo with seamless control and a signature bounce.
Offstage, Travis is an advocate for community mentorship. His teaching blends clean technique with storytelling, helping dancers tap into both precision and passion. Expect drills that challenge your stamina, combos that test your sharpness, and freestyle rounds that push your creativity under pressure.
Aspiring battler or casual mover — Travis brings unmatched energy, humility, and high-performance knowledge to every session.
At this summer’s Streetdance Intensive, Travis is ready to help you break your limits, build your voice, and bring your best.
